23-1 held our monthly Chapter Business Meeting on 8 Aug at the McKinney VFW post 2150. After extended social time we convened the meeting and discussed accomplishments over the last month – 22 to None Dinner, American Eagle School Supply Fundraiser, Bike Night at American Legion Post 97, Chapter Breakfast at The Colony Cafe, supporting another CVMA® member at their father’s memorial service, and most importantly 3 events recognizing PFC Isabella Gonzales – an Honor Ride, her funeral service, and escorting her to the DFW National Cemetery.
We had the honor to patch in our latest member, Sharon “Chula” Magee to our Auxiliary.
We awarded 2 Distinguished Rider Program milestone patches to Suds and Grunt.
We had the pleasure to host Tina Scheifelbein from Finding Freedom Therapy who spoke to us about recognizing and coping with trauma, Veteran mental health, and gave us some resources for help.
The Chapter received great news that we will receive a donation from Primary Care Solutions for the amount of $50,000 for the next year.
Great news for the Chapter, a new member, and time with our Brothers and Sisters. A Saturday well spent.
